U need not believe- Dreams come & go

Well hello Dear bloggers,

Gosh I miss you. Really I do. I've had a lot of busy time and after that I made myself rest because I felt as if I was going to experience a brain crash from overload. Any way I'm still dreaming and I will share another dream with you in a minute or two but first let me address something.

A fellow blogger wrote this:

dreams are mixture of wat we do..we hav..we want..we feel..things wich we r scared...we love..we forget..
and sum weirdness + creativity.
dats wat i feel
so stay kool!
n keep posting

First let me say thank you for reading my blog and posting a comment. Your time is appreciated. Now let me say I'm not trying to convince you one way or the other. Your thoughts, beliefs, experiences are your own and mine are mine. Further more trust me, I know the definition of what science says a dream is...for many years I have tried to understand who I was and so I did lots of research because there is a plethora of information concerning such topics...

So lets examine the general definition of dreams:

According to the Wikipedia- Dreams are the images, thoughts and feelings experienced while asleep, particularly strongly associated with rapid eye movement sleep.
According to the Merriam- Webster Online Dictionary: Dreams are a series of thoughts, images, or emotions occurring during sleep. Or an experience of waking life having the characteristics of a dream: as a visionary creation of the imagination.
Other definitions: Dreams are like a daydream or a state of mind marked by abstraction or release from reality or an object seen in a dreamlike state or vision.

All these explain the meaning of dreams because I truly believe there can not be only one meaning pertaining to the subject. And there are many, many more meanings. Again I am aware of them all. And I do fall asleep and dream like everyone else...however, whether you choose to believe or not I have had the type of dreams that come true or have true meaning. And I have had this happen to me for my entire life. Some say it's a gift. Others are freaked out. I was a little girl the first time I spooked my friend and told her something I wasn't suppose to know.

(Time for dream sharing) Here's the one dream about someone I will never forget: I was a little girl. I had to be about 8 or 9. I told my mother that I disliked a church woman that used to come around on Sundays sometimes after church. Because I dreamed of this woman being dark and ugly. That may not make sense to you at first but you have to remember I was a child so for me to dream of someone being dark and ugly was very scary and significant. After that dream...for some reason I just did not like that woman. She use to smile at me and be very nice but I did not like her. One day I remember trying really hard to like her because my mother had told her what my favorite food was and she actually made it for me. Still I hated when this woman came around. She made me feel creepy. My mom thought I was being a brat.

(Here's the Conclusion) It turned out that this woman had spread horrible lies amongst the church ladies about my mother. She had also betrayed my mother by sharing secrets and information that my mom had confided in her about. The entire time she was a HUGE trouble maker. So I guess...based on her appearance she wasn't a dark ugly monster like in my dream but her character was dark and ugly.

So you see there is a huge difference in going to bed as usual, having a normal dream and waking up. I have normal sleeping nights all the time and think nothing of it. But over the years I have learned how to determine which dreams are which. Even if I don't understand them.... Listen folks, I'm country so I'm just going to say it like this, "dere aint dat much coincidence in da world" LOL....

And this happens to me all the time. Feel free to think I'm a freak of nature or plain crazy. Feel free to explain to me what dreams are and think that I simply don't understand...LOL...I wish that's what most people would think...instead when I tell them something that spooks them...most of them are scared away. That is why I have kept many things to myself over the years and if I have felt the dream was shown to me for a reason I would just pray about it.

So there ya go guys...me in a nut shell with my nutty self. Ha! Life is grand. Before I go, check out some of these blogs. I'm reading them and they are pretty interesting...

Of course I love reading even when I'm resting. I've always been an avid reader. Reading is therapeutic for me. I have tons of mystery novels, etc... so feel free to point in the direction of an awesome blogger.

Well time to scoot out of here. Remember I'm not trying to convince you. Life is too short for that but time is forever so I'm living my life and connecting with precious souls all over the world.

Hey! I'm up there! lol. Thanks for that little bit of publicity...I guess I'm kind of secretly hoping that some publisher will come along and read my stories...So every little bit counts!

Telling that story reminded me of a dream that I had(and it turned out to be very true). It's a bit long to post in a comment, so I think I'll jsut do a post on it after this. Feel free to read!

Thank you for visiting me first, love it! I believe that dreams tell us what we really don't want to slow down and figure out in any other way. My best friend calls me all the time to look up the meanings of her dreams, I should just mail her the book. In the end your gut tells you what it means. By the way churches tend to hide the meanest, crap starting, drama lovin' ladies, well ballet class too! It's like the feed on the sweet goodness all around them.

I'm a lucid dreamer too. Some of my dreams have been prophetic. Many dreams have fueled my creativity.

I've been busy, just trying to keep up with my school work and all of the other things that I have to do - and the things that I wish I WOULD do, if I had the time.

Your hand?! What happened??

Sometime now,the topic of dreams has been interesting me, and I have been doing some research on it,till now I remain inconclusive(due to the lack of scientific data and proofs). So I really liked views upon this topic :)
Relative instincts you know...(about your mind relating a particular colour to your thinking)
And I always believe there’s some logic even behind intuitions :)

Hi Dreamer,

The post proved to be an interesting read. While reading,i had a thought if you were an 'Oracle' in Making, ;) !!

Dreams are a way of connecting us with the mystic.,. As long as we have an open attitude, there are so many profound things to learn, the list will simply amaze us.,.

And ya, Dreams propel us forwards towards our goals.,.

P.S: Your profile name, The Reluctant Dreamer, surprised me., Why dream reluctantly ?? ;)

I think dreams express our true emotions such as fear, confusion, and love. I've had some strange dreams that included things that I stressed about.

I totally believe. I guess all that matters is if you believe. Other people really don't matter when it comes to they personal opinions when you know its true. I love your blog.
